Candlelit Yoga, sounds dreamy doesn’t it? In December Yogi2Me hosted a Candlelit Yoga class with Active In Style and it was so much fun!
During this yoga class we did three types of yoga with different
The yoga class started with classic sun salutations the Ashtanga way. This was led by Sarah to get everybody warmed up and breathing properly. Then to complement the dynamic practice, Catarina slowed things down with some restorative yoga. This type of yoga is especially useful for achieving physical, mental and emotional relaxation.
We closed the class with a delicious Gong Bath with our very own Gong Master Leo to shortcut the way through a meditation.
Everyone left feeling that little bit lighter.
We would like to send our thanks to everyone who attended the class! And, we would especially like to thank our very own Y2M teachers – Leo Cosendai, Catarina Ferreira and Sarah Drai for teaching the class. Finally, we would like to thank Cru8foods and Sibberi Tree Water for supplying the class with such delicious refreshments.
Do you want to know a little bit more about the aspects of yoga that were involved in this session?
A Sun Salutation is a series of yoga poses performed in one continuos flow. They are a great way to start a yoga practice as they awaken the body and ease you into your practice gently. Sun Salutations are a good way to improve overall strength and flexibility.
Restorative yoga poses are those that help the body to totally relax and rest. They are simple poses that are designed to be held for several minutes or more.
A Gong Bath, also known as a Gong Meditation, is great for stress reduction and is intended to break down spiritual and emotional blockages. It can help to enhance focus and concentration for many hours after the session!
