Vinyasa Yoga is influenced by ashtanga yoga, and is a rather fast flow moving from one pose to the next systematically, whilst focusing on aligning the breath with each movement. This way, students come away with a good workout as well as cultivating balance, flexibility and endurance.
The classes typically include sun salutations, standing poses, balancing postures, seated and reclining poses, and backbends. We emphasise correct alignment and how to move in and out of the postures safely, in connection with the breath. These classes are challenging and will make you sweat. If you are new to yoga, it is a good idea to take a few classes in a slower format first to get a feel for different poses and for your body. The class will be tailor made and adjusted to your body, level of practise, and geared to providing all you wish to learn.
