Yin Yoga comes from the Taoist tradition and focuses on seated postures that target the connective tissues in the hips, pelvis and lower spine. It is a slow-paced practise which incorporates pranayama (breathing exercises), whilst holding the postures for anywhere between 1-10 minutes, thus increasing circulation in the joints improving flexibility.
The use of props are incorporated; blankets, bolsters, and blocks for a more comfortable and relaxing experience. The aim is to encourage a feeling of release and letting go, helping you achieve a physical, mental and emotional relaxation, providing deep healing for the body and the mind.
